Service Provider technologies on IOS and IOS XR

As I begin my preparation to take on the Service Provider v4 CCIE written and lab exams it became obvious to me that I needed to bring my level of understanding up on IOS XR to where it is with IOS. Starting with IGPs, BGP, MPLS, VRFs, and L3 and L2 Intra AS VPNs. Once I have the same level of efficiency in IOS XR that I do with IOS it is time to move into the SP specific topics. Inter AS L2 and L3 VPNs, Inter Domain Multicast, Quality of Service, MPLS Traffic Engineering. Once those topics are well versed and understood from a theory point of view it is then time to make sure I know how to configure them all off the top of my head.

This blog series is designed for just that. As I tackle each topic, I intend on covering the major topics of each topic, RIP for instance. Forming adjacency, Authentication, Summarization for both IPv4 and IPv6. I know what your thinking, RIP, really????? Yes, this isn't specifically CCIE SPv4, this is covering the technologies on the SPv4 CCIE blueprints but not specifically what you may or may not see on the written or lab exams.

Come join me through this adventure that is the rabbit hole of Service Provider!!!

Thanks,
